STUDENT DEVELOPMENT RECORD

Co-Curricular Transcript
The Student Development Record (SDR) Program was initiated in the fall of 1991. The program is a comprehensive attempt to provide data and information regarding student involvement in co-curricular and related non-classroom activities. The SDR program is under the direction of the Lee H. McCaskey Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL). In a cooperative effort with the University's Computer and Management Services area, the SDR was developed to provide statistical information regarding student involvement, provide useful services to student organizations, and provide students with a chronology of their involvement. In 2005, with help from Electronic Student Services, our program was revised to allow for the web-based entry of data. View the site
Student Record of Involvement and Honors
The Student Record of Involvement and Honors is the chronological record of a student's participation in co-curricular activities. This record can best be described as a co-curricular transcript. Students can obtain an unofficial transcript of their involvement by going to the AppalNet home page. Students must log in and click "Student Services", "Student Records", and, finally, "Student Involvement Transcript". They can request an official transcript at the Career Development Center in the Academic Support Building at any time throughout their collegiate career. The transcript is intended to complement the academic transcript by providing a chronology of the student's accomplishments while in college.
How the Program Works
A record is created for each student involved in a recognized student organization, employed at the university, participating in athletics, receiving a scholarship, or awarded academic honors. In 2005, our system was revised to allow for web-based entry of involvement data. Students have the opportunity to list leadership roles and membership in these groups. Secondly, records for university students are scanned to identify students who are employed, receiving scholarships or honors, and participating on intervarsity athletic teams. This information is consolidated under each student's social security number, creating a Student Development Record for that individual. The information will be directly loaded onto the program through the university database and then added to the student's transcript. These records are updated each semester so that a student's record is as accurate as possible.
Organization presidents can add the members of their organization. An email will be sent to the members added prompting them to log into SDR and accept the membership in that particular organization. Individual members can log into the SDR Program and add their membership. The membership request is placed in a pending queue and the Organization president and advisor have the authority to approve the memberships. If you have not completed entering data for membership in an organization, please inquire about it to your president or stop by the Lee H. McCaskey Center for Student Involvement and Leadership between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
