Leadership Classes

The professional staff of the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, in cooperation with the Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling and Interdisciplinary Studies offers a variety of academic courses for new students and students in leadership roles. These courses are designed to address topics such as personality and leadership styles, diversity, motivation, delegation, decision-making, values and ethics, etc. Courses are discussion-oriented with group interaction.


HPC 2700 Introduction to Leadership Development: a course designed for new students or students aspiring to leadership roles. (Three credit hours)


IDS 2534 Multicultural Leadership Development: a course focusing on multicultural leadership topics using theory-based models. (Three credit hours)


HPC 3700 Applied Leadership Development: a course for students in current leadership roles in student organizations. (Three credit hours)


HPC 3700 Greek Leadership Development: a course designed for student leaders in fraternities and sororities. (Three credit hours)


HPC 4300 Advanced Leadership Development: this course is offered by instructor permission and includes student leaders who are in significant leadership roles within the university community. (Three credit hours)
