Making copiesThe Office of Student Publications exists to provide instruction, guidance, and support to students at Appalachian State University to produce a bi-weekly student newspaper The Appalachian, the student literary arts magazine The Peel and any other student-produced publications which students successfully petition the Division of Student Development to create.

Collaborating studentsIn addition, the office is charged with oversight of the production of the annual ASU Telephone Directory, the student portrait program, the online Student Handbook, and various CSIL and Appol Corps publications used to enhance the ability of staff to promote their programs.

Answering the phoneAnnual workshops, as well as periodic and regular training sessions for staff are held throughout the academic year. Last year over 100 students worked with the student newspaper and yearbook.
